The Open Source Miners United (OSMU) was founded in March 2023, and is a community for open-source Bitcoin mining projects like Bitaxe aimed at challenging closed-source industry practices. Unlike nearly every other mining equipment manufacturer, OSMU projects release all design files and firmware to the public, allowing for transparency, repairability, and most importantly to keep development decentralized.
